Once a religion becomes your life you lose track of the real world and those around you. The faith is ALL.

Are you refering to re-born Christians? :D

Them as well. Telling them to "Go to ###### and I'll talk to you then!" may be satisfying but wastes oxygen.

Do the christian god-botherers go around killing people?

George W does :o

I can't belive that Mr T is asking for sympathy for government officials who "are only human and made a mistake" maybe Klaus Barber should have used that one in his Nurenberg trial. All I saw was inhuman over reaction. and although am am a total non beliver in any form of religion I respect those that choose such a path, but all this Islam bashing is missing the point, it was good Buddists doing the shooting, rifle butting, suffocating and drowning at tak bei, you reap what you sow, every single one of those soldiers involved including their superiors should be condemed by the temples and charged with assault and murder. I am sure that we will see more overeaction in the future from the por threatened cops, at least it might put them off extorting money from hard working buisinesses for a while, about time someone hit back at the dirty theives, they make me sick, drunk, lazy corrupt scum

Just for those people who don't realize, the world has been at war since the 23rd February 1998.

The war is being fought between the followers of Islam and EVERY non-Muslim.

I'm British but I'd ask all those USA and George Bush bashers to ask yourself one question.

Whose side are you on?

Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders

World Islamic Front Statement

23 February 1998

Shaykh Usamah Bin-Muhammad Bin-Ladin

Ayman al-Zawahiri, amir of the Jihad Group in Egypt

Abu-Yasir Rifa'i Ahmad Taha, Egyptian Islamic Group

Shaykh Mir Hamzah, secretary of the Jamiat-ul-Ulema-e-Pakistan

Fazlur Rahman, amir of the Jihad Movement in Bangladesh

Praise be to Allah, who revealed the Book, controls the clouds, defeats factionalism, and says in His Book: "But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)"; and peace be upon our Prophet, Muhammad Bin-'Abdallah, who said: I have been sent with the sword between my hands to ensure that no one but Allah is worshipped, Allah who put my livelihood under the shadow of my spear and who inflicts humiliation and scorn on those who disobey my orders.

The Arabian Peninsula has never -- since Allah made it flat, created its desert, and encircled it with seas -- been stormed by any forces like the crusader armies spreading in it like locusts, eating its riches and wiping out its plantations. All this is happening at a time in which nations are attacking Muslims like people fighting over a plate of food. In the light of the grave situation and the lack of support, we and you are obliged to discuss current events, and we should all agree on how to settle the matter.

No one argues today about three facts that are known to everyone; we will list them, in order to remind everyone:

First, for over seven years the United States has been occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places, the Arabian Peninsula, plundering its riches, dictating to its rulers, humiliating its people, terrorizing its neighbors, and turning its bases in the Peninsula into a spearhead through which to fight the neighboring Muslim peoples.

If some people have in the past argued about the fact of the occupation, all the people of the Peninsula have now acknowledged it. The best proof of this is the Americans' continuing aggression against the Iraqi people using the Peninsula as a staging post, even though all its rulers are against their territories being used to that end, but they are helpless.

Second, despite the great devastation inflicted on the Iraqi people by the crusader-Zionist alliance, and despite the huge number of those killed, which has exceeded 1 million... despite all this, the Americans are once against trying to repeat the horrific massacres, as though they are not content with the protracted blockade imposed after the ferocious war or the fragmentation and devastation.

So here they come to annihilate what is left of this people and to humiliate their Muslim neighbors.

Third, if the Americans' aims behind these wars are religious and economic, the aim is also to serve the Jews' petty state and divert attention from its occupation of Jerusalem and murder of Muslims there. The best proof of this is their eagerness to destroy Iraq, the strongest neighboring Arab state, and their endeavor to fragment all the states of the region such as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Sudan into paper statelets and through their disunion and weakness to guarantee Israel's survival and the continuation of the brutal crusade occupation of the Peninsula.

All these crimes and sins committed by the Americans are a clear declaration of war on Allah, his messenger, and Muslims. And ulema have throughout Islamic history unanimously agreed that the jihad is an individual duty if the enemy destroys the Muslim countries. This was revealed by Imam Bin-Qadamah in "Al- Mughni," Imam al-Kisa'i in "Al-Bada'i," al-Qurtubi in his interpretation, and the shaykh of al-Islam in his books, where he said: "As for the fighting to repulse [an enemy], it is aimed at defending sanctity and religion, and it is a duty as agreed [by the ulema]. Nothing is more sacred than belief except repulsing an enemy who is attacking religion and life."

On that basis, and in compliance with Allah's order, we issue the following fatwa to all Muslims:

The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies -- civilians and military -- is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it, in order to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy mosque [Mecca] from their grip, and in order for their armies to move out of all the lands of Islam, defeated and unable to threaten any Muslim. This is in accordance with the words of Almighty Allah, "and fight the pagans all together as they fight you all together," and "fight them until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah."

This is in addition to the words of Almighty Allah: "And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)? -- women and children, whose cry is: 'Our Lord, rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will help!'"

We -- with Allah's help -- call on every Muslim who believes in Allah and wishes to be rewarded to comply with Allah's order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it. We also call on Muslim ulema, leaders, youths, and soldiers to launch the raid on Satan's U.S. troops and the devil's supporters allying with them, and to displace those who are behind them so that they may learn a lesson.

Almighty Allah said: "O ye who believe, give your response to Allah and His Apostle, when He calleth you to that which will give you life. And know that Allah cometh between a man and his heart, and that it is He to whom ye shall all be gathered."

Almighty Allah also says: "O ye who believe, what is the matter with you, that when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling so heavily to the earth! Do ye prefer the life of this world to the hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place; but Him ye would not harm in the least. For Allah hath power over all things."

Almighty Allah also says: "So lose no heart, nor fall into despair. For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in faith."

And it says in the bible that we should shun menstruating women, does'nt mean we all do it, #@%& George Bush....yee ha! is not a foreign policy :o

He also dismissed suggestions that Thailand's security measures would be unable to cope with a terrorist threat, saying that the government was confident that its security measures could ensure the safety of diplomats and personnel from international organizations.

"I was absolutely appalled by the reports of piling detainees five-deep in trucks. It’s about time Thailand treated its citizens with equal and due respect."

So they treated their own students in "74 differently then did they ???? Stretched out on the ground shirtless including girls, hands tied behind their backs, crawling on their stomachs. Many were shot, some were strung up and burnt alive, some were crushed by tanks.

I agree that this incident in the south was not because they were Muslims, Look at the standard of Thai prisons.....If you break the law in Thailand expect harsh treatment regardless of your nationality, religion, colour or any other reason.

Pattani was in 1767 fully independent, afterwards annexed by the Thais.

If we now talk about the unrest in the South to be new, don't forget 1791 and 1808 saw several rebellions within Pattani against their Thai conquerors. Later the Thais where thrown out, came back and formally annexed Pattani early in the 20th century. This was followed in 1909 by a treaty which the British recognized and Pattani became part of Siam.

The klongs in Bangkok as a matter of fact, have been dug by slaves brought from Pattani under the Chakri 1-rulers. Even today you can admire the symbol of Pattani's military strength, the Seri Patani and Seri Negara cannons, displayed in Bangkok.

During WWII the British promised Pattani independence if they helped to throw the Japanese out. They did, but the British broke their promise and confirmed that the region is to be part of Thailand. Reason? To keep the region stable against the communists, or so they said but in fact just creating new reasons for terror.

PULO is a notorious terror group that wants what Britain promised but did not keep in 1945.

So far a little history. Why do we have today still these problems?

When Thailand realized that the kingdom of Pattani was weak, they annexed their neighbors.

When the British thought it might be in their interest, they decided to give the area to Thailand.

Everything goes back to foreign intervention. Should have kept the old kingdom of Pattani, where even today 80% of the population are Muslims contrary to the Thais.

PULO became more active again, Thailand does not agree to a separation. The fight re-started and of course will escalate.

Thailand sends it's army in, usual mistakes have been made during riots, the local people become angry and are branded as terrorists. Ending up, you kill my people with your army, we kill yours with bombs.

I do not agree to all the actions, but the mess started long time ago and history always repeats itself.

So an attack in Bangkok is possible, just to get the world's attention to the Pattanis (Where is that again, dear?), probably assisted by other militant groups from outside of Thailand.

Maybe old Siam and the British had honest intention when occupying the land. Maybe they wanted to bring freedom?

In Iraq another foreign nation decided to bring freedom and democracy. Others don't see it that way. Same as the old Pattani, Iraqis have no power to throw the USA-forces out. So they react the same age old way. Underground terror, bombings.

Will mankind ever learn to live in peace together without force and counter force?

No, I don't think so. There will always be a powerful bully conquering a weaker nation. The arguments will always be to bring a better life, freedom or whatever we call it. Sure, religion plays a role, but the main reason for war mongering is power which creates counter forces.

The Christians did not so much try to conquer the world to bring religion but to become a power. The Muslims do not have the firepower but given that, they would want to conquer the world to get the power in the name of the religion but in fact for the leaders.

Thaksin cannot give independence to the Pattanis for fear to lose power and face, of course.

Would be nice if all parties could sit together and find a solution. Doubt, it will ever happen.

There are lots of things to blame Bush about, but this is certainly not one of them.

Has nothing to do with the Yanks, if anything blame the Brits.

Everything is simply not our fault. If everything in the world is to be blamed on the US, then fall down and worship us for the gods we are. :o

Okay, just joking, but this has nothing to do with us/US.

Wonder if you will find it so  :D  Stroll when they stick the knife to your kneck.

Will you use your last words explaining away their actions?  :D

Even if I could establish any perpetrator's association to a terrorist organisation or lack thereof, I doubt I'd make it to the internet cafe, SoCal. Be realistic in your expectations. :o:D

so I wonder if mr T has any aspirations to invoke a 'patriot act' to help him in his quest to control acts of violence, cough cough subjugate the peasants?

These moves toward persecution by untrained police and petty minded beauracrats seem to be the common trend on the international stage.

I urge people to read the GOD FAQ
