This motorcycle is not ordinary. It is a life partner for Chaiwut Silapasamosorn, a Phuket farmer. What is extraordinary for this vehicle is that it does not use petrol to get around.

Turning from being a motorbike racing member and relocating himself from the southern province of Songkhla to Phuket, Chaiwut set up a cow farm. From then he tried to work out how to best utilize the waste cow droppings and one day he discovered the clever way.

It has been four years now since Chaiwut started using the energy from cow drops to use as fuel for his cooking in the kitchen and his motorcycle which takes him anywhere.

That's because he not only thinks, but experiments and applies it into practice. He shows us a simple way of making the fuel by mixing the manure with water, fermented for 30 days. The phenomenon creates gas. He then uses that gas for domestic consumption. As for the gas used for his motorcycle, Chaiwut adjusted the petrol tank and carburetor under his own patent, to make it use gas. And it works, his motorcycle moves and creates no emission.

Today around 30 of his cows continue to produce the gas. He said his idea is not for sale, but calls for government agencies' attention and serious support for it. He hopes that more Thais would turn to use this method, especially if they are in the farming industry already. In such case, he said no matter how much the world oil price goes up, Thai farmers would be less affected and lead happy lives while gaining value added from their own careers or surroundings
