SOURCE: Pattaya One News: July 9th 2008

Transient steals 95 Baht alcoholic drink from 7-Eleven.

In the early hours of Wednesday Morning, Police Major Wittaya from Pattaya Police Station was called to a 7-Eleven Convenience Store located in Soi 7 off Pattaya Second Road following reports of a transient walking out of the shop with an alcoholic drink without paying.

Police arrested Khun Supachai aged 37 with a bottle of Johnnie Walker Soda Mix priced at 95 Baht. The man explained to Police that he is currently unemployed and was happy to be arrested as he is guaranteed three meals a day while incarcerated.

He was placed behind bars, with a smile on his face, and will appear in court on a charge of theft early next week.

this is quite sad that someone actually wants to be arrested just so they can eat

englands full of em!

Transient – noun. a person or thing that is transient, esp. a temporary guest, boarder, laborer, or the like.

So it would appear that they have judged him to be a drifter.

Or is it

Transient–adjective. not lasting, enduring, or permanent; transitory.

So is this term used by Pattaya One News to describe a pre op katoey?

The legal system here is harsh and unforgiving for the poor. The non-violent theft of a bottle of Johnnie Walker Soda Mix leads to a custodial sentence. Tread carefully, my friends, when the alcohol addiction bites, very tough times are upon you.

Many cases in the US also. Winter is when they want to be arrested. Break a window and wait for the cops to take'm to jail. Three meals and a warm place to stay.
