Having A Powerboat In Phuket

I understand everything.

But what i can't understand is

How thai people offer to bring you to any island on their long tail boat?

They do it all the time they go to phi-phi i am sure.

They even can bring you to Malasya and other places.

I don't think that their boats is more safe that bayliner.

DarkSH, honestly, listen to what Capex and other boys tell us. It is all true, tested and proved. You/me do not want to be in a small boat 1/2 mile off the coats in stormy weather (forget going 50 miles to Similans in small digniy!). As for locals, they do do it often (and almost succesfully) like polinesians did on Kon-Tiki rafts crossing Pacific or great european cruisaiders crossed Atlantic/Pacific in 14th cenrury... Possible now on a small boat but!!! If you are of that brave bunch - my full respect. If you are into leasure safe boating (like me) - stick to Phang-Nga waters (incl PhiPhi) and it will be a great fun for months and months. Hope to see you around, my boat will be on the water early December, yahoooooo!

Many thanks to all sea wolves giving their invaluable advise last weeks.
