Featured Replies

hi, I'm off to immigration 2 mor and just want to check i have all required documents to extend my non o visa so i don't make a wasted trip. do i need any more than the following?

letter from embassy proving income

marriage certificate + photo copies (I have 3 copies)

birth certificate of child + copies (I have 3)

passport and copies of main ID page (I have 2)

wifes id card + copies (I have 2)

Photos of family I will take about 10

Is this correct?

thanx for your help

dave,

i dont know how old you are, or if this is your first extension or not.

i am under 50 so get my extension on being married to a thai as oppossed to a so called retirement visa.

i always take a letter from my bank confirming i have at xxxxx thousand baht in the account for the last 3 months.

i also take a copy of and the original tabian baan, the blue house book, your wife will know what it is.

i also had to provide a map of where i live in relation to suan plu ( bkk).

also a good idea to take the wife with you.

i am sure others will post more recent experiences, my last extension was in january this year.

good luck

A family extension of stay will not be issued without interview/signatures of the spouse. Home register (blue book with her name) and copies are also required. Copies of all passport used pages should be provided and the departure card. If first application (or not provided before) photos together in home/clothing in same closet/in front with house number visible. Map hand drawn.

Am not sure if bank account/bank letter required if using Embassy letter (not required for retirement) but as said it may be required.

Tm.7 form, 1,900 baht fee, 4x6cm photo taken within last six months.

Just a quick question on the Blue House Book.......suppose you are renting and it is in the owner of the houses name, not your wifes, would that mean that your request for a visa extension would be refused ?

Your Wife will be registered in a house book somewhere.

Ah,right...so it doesnt have to be the House Book where you are currently staying. As long as her name is in the House Book of a previous address, that will suffice.

Cheers for that,Lite Beer.

Yes. Every Thai is registered somewhere. Usually the family home.

Yes Dave . Don,t forget to take the Wife. Fee 1,900 Baht

I just got my one year Non-Imm O visa with mutiple entry and this is first time applying for the thai visa. The consular never asked me anything such as bank statement, bank guarantee, my thai wife ID, family photo, house book and etc. They only asked me the marriage certificate in English (not marry in Thailand) and my thai wife passport...that's all. Moreover the visa fee is waived (free) and took us to apply and get it within 10 mins only. Usually the consular will give 3 months visa first, then issued 1 year visa, they didn't give me 3 months visa rather 1 year visa.

One thing I need to know whether can I work in Thailand, if you could assist me. Thanks.

This is the second time you have posted about getting visa but you have not said where or your nationality.

It appears you are Malaysian and expect you obtained the visa in your home country? Normally there are different requirements for third country nationals when making visa application so your requirements probably would not be as strict as those for someone from another country.
