I am working with a start-up but let's just say things aren't as rosy as expected. I currently hold a 90 day Non-Imm B from Penang and just picked up my work permit. After about 2 mo's into the job it seems a bad match. If I go - from what I've read - the work permit cancels immediately, but the 90 day visa still holds. Is this correct ? Any possibility of it being approved as Non Imm B me just doing my own thing here in Thld, without a company backing me ?

Or do I have only one week to cross a border and convert to tourist 30 day visas ? I do not have another job lined up. I would prefer to stay the full 90 day term, do the 3 x 30 day tourist visas, and then leave the country to acquire a new Non-Imm B on my own.

You can stay until your current permitted to stay stamp date. 3x30 would not be tourist visas but 30 day visa exempt. Am not sure what you question is about doing your own thing but visas/extensions are issued with specific guidelines.

Thanks for quick reply Lopburi.

In the past I have had Non Imm B issued in my home country, and then no work permit. At the end of the one year use of the visa, I would then just go cross the border and be stamped in 30 day VOA which is what I was referring to as 30 day tourist entry stamps (up to 3 x possible).

Otherwise, best situation would be...

Is it possible to extend the 90 day Non Imm B/ apply for full year's visa without a company here backing me ?

No.

And the 30 day entry is called "visa exempt" entry. It is not a tourist visa or a visa on arrival. And they are not limited in number - only the number of days (90) is a six month period.
