Tourist Visa Expires Today

My Visa expires today. I have planned on going to immigration to extend for one week but it is closed. I have been calling the Visa agencies to take me on a boarder run but none are open. Any suggestions on places where I can get the Visa at a boarder and that is not closed when I get there. It is 12:00 noon here now and don't want to drive long way to get there and it be closed. Any suggestions?

It depends how long you want to stay. If you were planning to go to the border next week, and just delaying by visiting immi, then you could drive to Ban Laem (see this thread for directions and advice http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Nearest-Bord...ya-t200656.html)

If you were only planning to stay a few days anyway I would go to immi tomorrow for your 7 day extension. They may or may not fine you 500 baht overstay, depending on their mood and the prevailing wind.

Just go to the immigration tomorrow .... pay 500 baht overstay and then extend it for 7 days. No need to go abroad ..... If you pay the overstay, your 7 day period starts tomorrow too.

can't tourist visas be extended for 30 days?

A real tourist visa can; normally. But he says one week so expect he has a 30 day visa exempt entry as he seems to believe you can obtain a visa at the border (rather than a visa exempt stamp).

Correct, he said 'as my visa expires' no mention of which visa .... As he wants to go to the border I assumed he has a visa exempt stamp.
