Two Men Arrested Following Bizarre Incident On

SOURCE: Pattaya One News: July 29th 2008

Two men arrested following bizarre incident on Jomtien Beach.

A bizarre case now from Dongtan Police Sub-Station located at the North end of Jomtien Beach Road. In the early hours of Tuesday Morning, Police were called to a parked BMW Car at the Gratingtong Temple further up Jomtien Road after the owner of the car reported a drunken Thai Man sitting in the drivers seat after he had apparently broken into the vehicle.

Khun Direk aged 46, a Prison Officer from Loey Province explained to Police that he had parked the car at the Temple and went to a nearby Spa. Upon his return he realized the front passenger door was open and a man was sitting in the driver seat. Khun Boonam aged 22 and Khun Wirat aged 32, who was standing outside the car were smiling and informed Police Colonel Nopadon, who responded to the call that they only wanted to sit in the car and did not intend to steal anything.

The men were in possession of a gold necklace and a small amount of cash; however these items did not belong to the car owner. Police suspected the pair had ingested narcotics and this was confirmed after they failed a urine test back at the Station. The two men, who were lovers, according to their statement, were charged with breaking-in to the car and consumption of class 1 drugs and they will appear in court later this week.

I think the word bizarre is the operative word in this whole story.
