Hi everyone...

I have an Italian passport.

I entered Thailand in Feb with a stamp on arrival.

A month later I did a visa run into Myanmar.

In April, then, I went to Malaysia and at the Thai embassy got a non ED visa with which I went back to Thailand. I did an internship here for three months. Unfortuntaly I did not realize this visa had a single entry so when I went to Laos on vacation and came back, I was told my visa was over even though supposedly it was a six month one.

So last week I had to do another visa run, last minute.

I was told I have run out of 'days' that I am allowed to spend in thailand as a tourist. Is that true?? Or can I apply for a 'real' tourist visa at a Thai embassy abroad (like back in Italy when I am visiting there in a couple of weeks?) Would that be ok? or can I NOT come back into Thailand in the next 6 months like poeple here are suggesting? If that visa is possible, how long would I be able to remain in Thailand with it?

Thank you so much for your help.....

No the 90 days within 6 months only applies to visa exempt entries (ie your 30 day stamps). Get a proper tourist visa and you will have no problems.

If you get a double entry tourist visa it will allow you to stay for 180 days, and by then the clock will be reset on your visa exempt entries.

Edit// If you are going back to Italy I think you may be able to get a triple entry tourist visa - ask when you get there (or someone will clarify here). Either way you won't have any problems getting a double in your home country.
