กี่ needs to have a 'mai ehk' (it's pronounced with a low tone)

instead of บ่อยเท่าไร, use บ่อยแค่ไหน (because 'how often' isn't a numerical concept)

In the first case, it is a question - not a statement. (sorry, no Thai script from this browser).

The "gii kon" means "how many people?" You can add "krap" at the end to be polite, but not "mai krap" - which would not fit that construction. It is already a question. (In English, you wouldn't ask: "how many brothers and sisters do you have, or no?")

In the second, the "gii mohng" means "when? (at what time/how many hours?)." No need to add another "when."

As for the "needs to have a 'mai ehk' (it's pronounced with a low tone)" - that applies to all the sentences where "gii" is used. Without the 'mai ehk' it is not a Thai word. That was just a simple typo on kriswillems' part, as he has acknowledged.
