Was, Or Is, Thailand The Right Choice Of Home From Home For You?

Featured Replies

While I realise that each has his or own reason or excuse for going to live there, my question is: did you make the right choice?

This question is really aimed at those for whom there is no going back but of course it's open to all.

I ask because, although I lived there once before, back in the "good old days", I feel after my more recent visits there that too much

has changed for me to live there comfortably full time.

Not that I'm negatively impressed by the Thailand of today; I can take things as I find them and accept what I cannot change and I

still enjoy my twice yearly chill outs there.

I think my chief reservation is that it has become just a little too westernised nowadays, not directly because of farang influence but

perhaps because the Thais are striving to catch up with western ways and prosperity.

I am sorry qwertz, are you interested in the opinions of people living in Thailand or of those who lived here and moved back to their home countries?
