ericg1953
I currently live here in Thailand and have a retirement visa. I have been here for 3 years and have never left the country. I am going to the US in 1 month and was wondering how far in advance I need to purchase my single entry to come back here without voiding my retirement visa. I was also wondering what the cost is. I hope my info about just needing a single entry to return is correct. Thank You
dotcom
You can get re-entry permit at the airport on the way out. The question is: Will you be back here before the date of your yearly renewal? Because if not you need to go to immigration & make arrangements.
Maestro
You can apply anytime, even already now. Regardless of the date of application the re-entry permit will state that it is valid for a return journey to Thailand until a specific date, and this date will be the same as the expiration date of you current extension of stay. In other words, the re-entry permit keeps you permission to stay alive. A single-entry re-entry permit costs 1,000 Baht. -- Maestro
Lite Beer
Personally I would not leave it until the airport. The desk is after you check in. If you have a problem it is too late.

I think i will go to immigtation and get the re-entry soon as long as it is valid for some time
