There's loads. Try Majestic Suites or Ever Rich.

Be a bit more specific as to what you mean by Central Bangkok. The closest thing to a Central Business District is Silom. Other posters have sugggested hotels that are in lower Sukhumvit which is a tourist area. The usefulness of the responses that you get here will depend on whether you are coming for business or holiday.

A great little hotel - The Far East Inn - situated just off Chidlom, in soi Bangkok Bazzar a small soi opposite McDonalds/next to 7-11.

You cant get much more central, its just a 5 min walk to the BTS and its around the corner from the Central World Plazza. The cost (last time I stayed) was 900 baht, but that was a while ago. It has about 20 rooms and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

I want to be somewhere around MBK to Sukhumvit area on that part of the BTS/Bangkok area

Check out the Royal Asia Lodge as well.. It's a free tuk tuk ride to the station, but is cheap and in a quiet spot.
