Non-b Multi Wife Pregnant With Triplets Can't Do Visa Run

Featured Replies

Me and my wife are here in Bangkok on Multi Non-B visas expiration 11 Jan 2009

We are both US citizens

Our latest entry stamp is due to expire on Aug 25th. I called the hospital today about getting a wheelchair for her to make the crossing into Poipet to renew later this month and was advised that my wife should not travel because she is pregnant with triplets and it is a high risk pregnancy.

1. Can I get an extension for my wife for medical necessity since she can't travel?

2. Can I get an extension for myself so I can stay to take care of her. She is on bed rest right now and needs me to look after her.

3. If so what documentation will I need, and can using Sunbelt or Siam Legal help?

Our hospital does not have a coordinator to deal with immigration like BI. We are being seen at Vejthani.

There is no problems getting medical certification from her OB/GYN.

Lastly we will need more than 90 days. Her due date is mid Jan. Can she get more than one 90 day extension?

Any help will be appreciated.

1. Paragraph 7.24 of Royal Thai Police Order No. 606/2549 applies to your situation. Under “Basis for Consideration” (middle column), clause 1 is for your wife.

2. Same rule applies, clause 2 in the middle column.

3. Bring what is listed in the Police Order in the right column.

If more than 90 days are needed, go to immigration again before the end of the first 90-day extension with the same documents. I have seen posts by members who needed and got repeat extensions.

Go early for your application, do not wait until the last day of your and your wife’s current permission to stay.

Best wishes to your wife and the triplets yet to be born!

After 2 years trying and 1 miscarry we are happy with what we got. Now I just need to convince immigration to give the wife an extension.

As for the triplets, the parents are very happy :o

Congratulations - better think about applying for 3 new passports and visa's as well

Congratulations, we have been also trying for two years.

Three...wow, I thought twins were difficult. But now that babies are popping out in such multiples, you have 3 good reasons to get a vasectomy...

More questions.

I presume that I go to the Immigration office here in Bangkok for the extension and do it.

I am thinking TM-7 form completed, wife's passport, passport sized photo, doctors note, and 1900 baht is all I will need.

Am I correct?

I have read the horror stories of long queues there and my wife absolutely can't be stuck there for hours on end. Will I be able to leave her at home?

Will this be straight forward or will I need help? Will they be looking for any other documents? And lastly, will I end up at the mercy of some bureaucrat who maybe is having a bad day or are they helpful there?

And PB that's a BIG negative on the snip snip.

Where is your Doctor and Hospital???

Baumrungrad has an immigration desk on the 3rd floor of the Out-patient area, next to the cashier, that will handle all the details for you.

You won't need to go to Immigration yourself.

I'll Quote myself to answer that one:

Our hospital does not have a coordinator to deal with immigration like BI. We are being seen at Vejthani.

The only hospitals in BKK with immigration help are BI and Samitivej hospital (Sukhumvit).

I have my doctor's note now. Are they going to be dicks at immigration or helpful? How much trouble is this going to be? IE could someone answer my last post, please.

Appreciate the good will, but I need someone to drop some knowledge on me. I got 2 weeks to straighten this out. Siam Legal and Sunbelt don't seem to want my money since they haven't bothered to reply to my e-mails and calls. I am twisting in the wind right now. A little encouragement would be nice.

The Bangkok immigration office does this type of extension all the time. I am sure you will find the officers knowlegeable and helpful about it. Other members who have posted about getting this extension have mentioned no problems.

hi Gunnyd, how are things going at Vejthani?

when i was pregnant with my daughter i was on 30 days VOA! i went to suan plu when i was about 7 months, they gave me a 3 month extension[only took my doctors note from Vejthani] then after she was born i went back and they gave me another 2 month extension[think i was just lucky]

they were pretty nice actually,no queing to see the immigration doc,[takes about 5 mins,he looks at the docs note, writes in his little book, gives you a piece of paper!]

i think your wife will have to go and see the immigration doc[sorry] they need to see she is pregnant! i know that sounds strange, but its what i was told..

good luck

Thanks all I guess I'll take the Mrs. down to immigration Monday and see how it goes. I'll post my experience.

I expect Monday will be quite busy (normal) and Tuesday being a holiday.

lop, it it possible that the wife switches from a B to and O visa in country, and then gets an extension based on the husbands extension?

He is not here on an extension of stay so that would not apply.

I had last year a traffic accident (motorbike).

I was IN hospital and imigration started making problems.

I had a chat with doctor and he gave me a 3 months extension (which I needed as well!). End of problem... To be perfectly honest I could have done it in one week less....

Here's my report on my trip to Thai Immigration

It was a complete circle jerk. The immigration doctor was an a-hole.

I guess you have to be ready to deliver to get an extension. You have to be 28 weeks or more pregnant before they can issue an extension according to him.

Also the impression I got was that he had a problem with the fact that my wife is older than me and that we did IVF. He told us to go home to the USA. Our doctor's note wasn't good enough and even if it was my wife has to be 28 weeks along to qualify for an extension.

Good thing we have multi Non-B's good until 30 Jan 2009. And I got all of the papers back from immigration so they won't have any record of us going there.

Luckily our hospital is going to lend us a wheelchair so that I can push my wife in and out of Poipet with my broke disabled ass.

Dicks.....

And Siam Legal and Sunbelt were of no help. Off to Poipet in 2 weeks. I just hope this doesn't <deleted> anything up with our pregnancy.
