Using A Palm To Learn Thai

Featured Replies

Hopefully some useful advice for any other Palm (handheld PDA) owners learning Thai:

Go to http://www.anki.com/features.html and download this excellent freeware, then go to http://www.anki.com/community_download.html and download the Thai language databases - or better still PM me and I'll send you versions of these same files where I have added proper indexes by chapter, etc (it makes them a lot more useful!).

The databases for use with Anki include the vocabulary for both Manee books; the vocabulary for each of the Benjawan Poomsam Becker series of books; vocabulary for Teach yourself Thai; Thai reading basics; Thai tone rules; and more! I find them incredibly useful as it means I can simply pull out the Palm and review vocabulary whenever i have a few bored minutes. Please PM me for the modified database files, don't take them from their website.

Any Palm owners have other tips to share with me?

Good luck on your learning journeys...

Waveraider,

If you send me a personal message with your e-mail address I'll send them to you as one .zip file (Thai Visa doesn't allow .zip files to be sent through their mail system...)
