D. strictus is also known as Pai Saang (ไผ่ซาง) which is quite common in Thailand. My feeling is Pai Saang 's as common as Pai Leang. I found some offer on internet. You may also ask your local nursery to get it for you.

Moso (P. pubescens) seeds arrived last week. Let me know if you are interested to grow some.

Today I bought 4 Pai Tong luem Lang and Bong wan bamboo seedlings ,said they were grafted ,at Ram Intra just past Fashion island from Khun Anurak you can call him on 086 8896650 (not sure he can speak english) , he has a few varieties including giant bamboo . The cost was around 85 each I think the giant was around 200.
