All due respect to David, and the bands that he has in the blues factory,Lam etc,but the guys who play at Climax bar are fantastic.

I have watched them for a while now, they play continuously all night, and have got very slick and tight.

Talking to guy in there last night who said that the lead guitarist, the one with the goatie, joined a band in Bangkok to make a record, and its now at the top of the charts.

So get to see them if you have a chance, before he hits the big time.

Hang out there quite often!

Been coming there for a couple of years now, and the guitar player improved a lot in that time, probably why he got snooped up by the talenthunters....

The Bangkok band he joined with gave a free concert in Climax a couple of weeks ago, they certainly are pretty good...

The only mistake by the owner methinks is making the place so much bigger. This might be ok during high season, but during a quit day the place looks pretty empty.

I felt more comfortable how it was before he renovated...

Wish I had known about the concert by the bangkok band, and I agree with what yu say about the size, before you watch the band, and still check out the fashion parade on Walking Street.

Went there last week - impressed with the music but why such few punters?

Met a farang musician in there who had travelled to Pattaya hoping to do some jamming, but had his saxaphone confiscated by immigration officials at BKK Airport - accused of seeking work without a visa/permit. Bastards!

Way less punters around since they renovated/expanded.

Before you had good ambience with only a few people around, so everybody else who peeked inside stayed also.

Now it looks empty when there's 10 customers inside, so people take a look, see an almost empty place and just move on...

Sad because if it stay's like this these musicians might start to split up and move elsewhere.

Maybe they would be better enclosing it completly, making it more of a club feel, then have a seperate outside bar.

I think they must have something like10 A/Cs running in the back area, must cost a fortune.

They have started to charge to use the loo.

"They have started to charge to use the loo"

OMG! The one time I used the facilities there it was just a squat toilet as well! The loo was up near the ocean side back then and I think I could hear it hit the water! :o:D

The Bamboo Bar pulls that as well, but I have to admit the first couple times I was there I don't think I gave the lady anything. But the TG's all know the routine and take their 3 or 5 baht or whatever it is.

I can't pee while I'm having the back of my neck massaged, it stops the flow. I have to give him 10 baht to leave me alone.

A perfect night out in pattaya if you like live music

Climax bar the Blues factory,

I like to visit them at least twice a week and enjoy.

The funniest thing I ever did see.

One evening I was sitting enjoying a cold beer and the music in the Climax Bar, I

noticed that the lead singer started acting a little different, trying to talk and

pretending to joke with the audience. Then without warning the whole band stated

playing there instruments backwards and I mean all of them, the guitarist, bass

guitarist and drummer, what a site, so I looked around the room and I noticed Dave

from the blues factory having a quiet drink with his good lady. It became obvious to

me that the band where out to impress Dave in the process entertaining me more than

they thought,

Dave next time you drop into the Climax bar, let me know as I fancy a giggle
