Extending Visa

Featured Replies

Hi all, i am going to Thailand next october. I will get a 2xentry visa here, that gives me about 6 months. What do i do to get a new 2x entry visa or a new 6 months, in case i want to stay a year ? Is there a nearby country that will/can issue a new 2x entry visa. I am retired at 48 years (sickness), does that give me any chance for 1 year stay, and wich papers must i show ? hope someone knows about this,

Thanks, Erik

Currently Vientiane will issue a two entry tourist visa. There is no provision for one year stay at age 48 other than the normal education/marriage/business type extensions of stay.

Thanks lopburi3, i understand i can stay 6 months with the visa i get here in Europe and then get a new 2x entry visa in Vientiane, despite the fact i just finished a 6 months stay in Thailand, is it possible you can tell me anything about costs of travelling if leaving from Khon Kaen ? fly or car ? visa runs and fees?

Thanks again, best regards, Erik

Have no knowledge of any visa service but it is a relatively short drive on national highway to border from Khon Kaen so private car or bus service would be easy. There is about a $30 charge (by nationality) for Lao visa at border each trip.
