I'm sorry to ask such a basic question but I'm new to all of this.

My visa, Non-B, expires August 21, 2008, yesterday I received a 60 day extension from immigration. So now it's good until October 20. That does mean that I'm not required to leave the country until October, right?

Again, sorry for asking such a simple question. I'm just a little confused and I don't want to overstay by accident.

You obtained a 60 day extension of stay under section 7.23 (visit to wife or child)? And your permitted to stay until was August 21 but now you have a new stamp where permitted to stay is October 20? You do not have to leave until October 20 in that case.
