Land/house Ownership: Update

Featured Replies

If possible, I would like updated answers to the following two questions:

Can a foreigner own a house in Thailand?

Can a foreigner buy or lease land in Thailand?

I want to buy/lease land and build a house on it. I want the land and house to be mine (no Thai ownership).

I have seen signs at real estate agencies stating that “Yes, a foreigner can own property in Thailand.” I think they mean a condo and not a house and/or land.

Thanks.

A foreigner can own a house in Thailand. A foreigner can lease land in Thailand and build a house on it. A foreigner can be a director of a Thai company that owns land. As a foreign individual, it is very unlikely but not impossible (if you are very wealthy) to own 1 rai of land. Read This Thread. If it doesn't answer your question regarding land ownership then let us know what additional questions you have.
