Help ! My Gf Thinks She Is A Vet !

Featured Replies

alex, true BUT, first u give a piece of something tasty w/o the pill, then a piece with the pill, followed by a piece again w/o the pill... that way they never know if they are getting the pill or not, and they get a yummy reward for taking the pill also... peanut butter works really well as does nutella for coating pills (in big gobs of the stuff) , it sticks in dog's mouth so he/she has to swallow...

has your dog been checked for hormonal problems?? (thyroid is what i was thinking, but i cant remember if we already discussed this or not so i am repeating it...)...

like the start of addison's or cushings (reverse of each other...).. or other hormonal thing??? some hormonal problems cause alopecia (hair loss), but only special blood tests can show these problems and not the basic blood counts that a vet could do with a machine in his/her practice, only a real med lab...

btw, the treatment u are doing is the treatment for demodex as last week we prescribed the exact same treatment for a labrador with suspected demodex (sent skin off to lab but started treatment anyway)... hsi skin was black from constant licking and itching, all his underbelly, legs, stomach... he had absolutely no fleas or ticks
