DonaldFreeman
hi We are now living in Phuket and rented a house but it has an electric stove which takes forever to boil water and not so good to do a stir fry which is what we cook. I fried a fish today and took 30 minutes. Electric doesn't get hot. I want to get a gas burner but not sure what type or brand is best (safest around kids) and where to buy it. Can I use a gas burner in the house or is that not safe. I see Thai people cooking inside massage parlors with small gas burners going. Any ideas on how I can get a hot gas flame that is safe for a house? Thanks in advance! I appreciate your help DF
dotcom
Put the whole shooting match outside on the porch. The shop that sells gas bottles & refills also have rings. Choose one with a metal "stand" which is sturdy & stable. Cooking will be fun again. You can get em from real small to real big. Buy one of those striker things too. Piezo. cathyy
The size gas burner you need depends on the size of your wok. I can't imagine trying to do any kind of stir-frying on an electric burner!
juehoe
What about induction? Electric, safe but fast as gas...
