A friend who lives in suphanburi has to go to Chang Mai for a wedding, this is about the same time he is due to leave Thaiand to comply with his one year multiple entry visa. ( He has to leave the country every 90 days ) Does Mae sot have the facility to do this or Chang Rai area where he can get stamped out and back into Thailand same day.

We can't get any sense from our local immigration office so any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Mae sot should be no problem, 500 baht for the Burmese stamp into Myawaddy, no sticker-visa, half page should be enough for all 4 stamps (out Thailand, in Myanmar, out Myanmar, in Thailand).

You are not allowed to travel onwards into Myanmar from Myawaddy, only one day visitors passed are given out. If you want to visit the market instead of going back immediately they will keep your passport at immigration and give you a visitors pass (post-it note with a stamp)
