Satellite Isp - What Are The Options?

I live approx 28 km outside of the main City of Karat but we do not have phone lines yet and it is doubtful whether it will be connected to a ADSL exchange as and when we have land line connection.

I have tried the mobile phone connection but mid afternoon till late evening it grinds to a halt and the connection is droped. At present I use CS Loxinfo satellite connection which is not bad but just far too expensive. Are there any other alternatives out there and what happened to something called competition to get the charges reduced to sensible rates?

Any suggestions would be helpful.
