Man arrested following attempted theft with fake gun.

Police were called to Soi Dudee in Central Pattaya on Monday Evening following reports of an attempted armed robbery. Police arrived and arrested the suspected armed thief, Khun Soontorn aged 29 who was found to be carrying a fake weapon.

The victim of the attempted theft, Khun Suwansar aged 18, explained that she was approaching her house which is located further up the Soi when the man walked up behind her and pointed the fake weapon at her head. He demanded that she hand over her valuables.

She screamed for help and the suspect attempted to escape. He was apprehended by residents and the Police were called. Khun Soontorn confessed to the attempted theft and was taken to Pattaya Police Station and charged with theft and other offences relating to the use of the fake weapon during the robbery. He will appear in court later this week.
