Cape Coral man arrested for stealing large food delivery

A Cape Coral man was arrested and charged with stealing $160 worth of Thai food that had been delivered to him, police said.

Good Kertphiarot of the Pad Thai restaurant, 2200 Santa Barbara Blvd. S., told police he had delivered the food to a man at 933 S.W. Santa Barbara Place about 11 a.m. Monday.

When Kertphiarot arrived, the man was working on a light outside the house. Kertphiarot gave him the food, and the man told him he had to go inside the house to get the money. Instead, the man drove away.

Police were able to track down the suspect, Kevin M. Turnbull, 43, who lives at the Santa Barbara Place address, through a cell phone number used to place the order, according to an arrest report by Officer Lucas Smoker.

At noon Tuesday, Smoker found Turnbull at the 7-Eleven at 345 Cape Coral Parkway E. Turnbull admitted he stole the food, but said he didn’t know what he was doing because he has an alcohol problem, the arrest report says.

Turnbull was charged with defrauding an innkeeper/under $300. He was released from Lee County Jail after posting $500 bond.

*Edit

Just wondering what the order consisted of that was worth $160 in the USA. A small phad thai, pork fried rice, 2 eggrolls, and a medium coke?

Was he working on the light while drunk at 11 am ? Did he drive to the 7-11 ? Was he buying instant Thai noodles there ?

Cool :o !

Not surprising. I am familiar with the area. A very odd mix of low-life rednecks, boozers, druggies, brain-dead retirees & milionaires. But, could happen anywhere really. Most of Thailand is tame by comparison.

He'd go down well at certain bars around Pattaya town. Mr Samoker. :o

More likely 16 point zero $ if that.

Unless there was a bottle or 2 of champagne.
