Now that Thai airways isn't flying there anymore, does anyone know the best airline to take from New York to Bangkok?

Our feeling is that the way TG prices have been going up they would soon have met a no demand situation anyway! Our recommendations would be threefold, for price then China Airlines via Taipei to JFK, for service and onboard comfort Eva Air also via Taipei who offer a premium Class as well, or for the best service and comfort Etihad via Abu Dhabi, which is of course flying "the other way round"! It is also now possible with us to go via London and then pick up the great services of Virgin Atlantic to Newark, JFK or Boston at similar rates in the low season and allowing a stop in the UK in both directions

Six months later, is this still your best advice for flying from the East Coast of the US?

Working for Etihad myself I can say the NYC - AUH - BKK service is pretty good as I've worked that sector several times now. I also beleive we have some very competitive fares. If flying economy class you have full seat back entertainment. If you buy premium economy fare, you are upgraded to Pearl Class (Business). Not sure the specific details since I'm cabin crew but I'm sure Thai Visa Travel could assist.
