Need Help And Advise From Csloxinfo 2 Mb Adsl Sme Users

Featured Replies

Currently I am using a 2 MB SME ADSL package from CSLoxinfo on a TOT phone line.

Since 3 weeks international bandwidth has decreased to a level which is unbearable,

and before I take the sledge hammer and destroy my PC I would like to ask this board for advise first.

Can some members please provide me with their bandwidth information.

(2 MB SME CSLoxinfo users only!).

Please test ATLANTA and SAN FRANCISCO to Bangkok.

Big thanks in advance for your cooperation!

Kinda optimistic- you need users of a certain plan who also happen to know how to test international bandwidth from/to specific locations.

Might be easier just to diagnose the problem, since you already know how to if you know how to test your international bandwidth (unless you are using some GUI tool?).

There's a web site www.speedtest.net which is well know to ADSL users.

Of course I know how to test or diagnose, but I would like to know if I am the only one who has that problem or other members also face simmilar problems

since a few weeks. This would be of great help for the further steps I might take!

Hope that explains why I asked this question and addressed it only to members which use the same package as I use.

sure- but im just trying to help by pointing out its useless to ask other members if you know how to diagnose it. If you see a problem in a certain hop, that problem is a problem and nothing to do with you personally. You have reason to think your ISP is singling you out for special routing?

I don't know any other opportunity to find out why my international bandwidth has dropped exactly 50% in the last 3 weeks. According

to ISP, media provider and phone line provider - everything is in order and works as it should including my hardware...

What are my chances to find out what is the real cause of this nightmare?

Well you cant diagnose it properly, but the best you can do is check your route and highlight a bottleneck. Presumably you have done this or you wouldnt be asking for confirmation, but its safe to assume that confirmation and relax safe in the knowledge there's nothing you can do about it.

Hi

I don't have CSLOXINFO but am interested to know if you were previously getting a decent service with this SME fixed IP service?

Did you ever get decent 2MB or close for international? Did you even get 50%

I consider just opting for a 512k SME fixed IP package from them and it would be useful to know if this offers decent speed. My current TOT service is 2MB and I am lucky to get 5% of this and recently Internet is slower than dialup at most times of the day or night, including middle of the night... :o

Thanks a lot :D

regards

Adrian

My 2mb SME works fine!. Video/audeo streaming is no problem. Average downstream is 1700~1800 kbps, local and international bandwidth are (almost) even, and upload is between 280~400 depending some conditions I guess.

despite some ups and downs I can say I am quite satisfied. Despite a very "noisy" TOT line I get almost the full bandwidth. But conditions might be diffrent depending within the area you are located.

Many thanks, that begins to make a clearer picture for me. My location is Sukhumvit 39 Bangkok. I know that the majority of users will be TOT and True around here and it is a little unknown how decent a new account with CSLOXINFO will be, that is why I reckon the way to go is with the 512k and see if it works well and then upgrade. At 2,500 THB per month it is quite a bit better higher than my 1,100 THB for 2MB from TOT - but then we know what terrible value that service offer is!

Thanks again for the information.

AMH :o
