Importing Pet Dog From France- Information

Featured Replies

Hi All ive already posted this on the pet section, but this area gets more viewings?.............

My sister is living in Paris and wants to take her pet Chihuahua to phuket to stay for a few months.

the dog only weights 2 1\2 lb like a bag of sugar, very small?..........

the question im asking is, is there any restrictions bringing the pet from France and is it possible for her to have the dog travel with her in the plane its self?....

id be so grateful for any information on this topic...........

I don't know about restrictions, but poor dog.

They might well get sick here with Thai dogs.

Will it be happy here for 1-2 month with the heat & all?

What an ego.

Your (identical) post in the Plants, Pets and Vets forum was replied to (nicely) and directed you to what should be a wealth of information on the subject.

I'm born in Fontainbleau

Tell me about the weather.

Your sisters dog never leaves the house in Paris.

Poor dog.

We, farangs, always have bad habit to give an opinion when it is not asked and required..., I start to understand and prefer Thai who almost never give an opinion... (even when required ;-) )

About the dog, it seems that Thailand is one of the few countries that allow pets importation without quarantine, that's what I least I remember having read somewhere else.

You cannot take dogs in aircraft cabin, however, maybe find an old shoebox and airmail it, obviously you would need to use recorded delivery, (costs a little extra, but ensures, most of the time, it's arrival)

Don't forget to put in a few "snacks" for it's in flight meal.
