ray23
There si a news relaese in th Ntion tha says that the PM Mr. Samak and 111 PPP MP's are meeting in Udon on Tuesday. Probely be a non event if PAD isn't anywhere around. If they are I would bet on a repeat of he last time they got togther here, only mor violent. Me I'm staying home for the day. But I would be careful if your in the area. Most of the Government events are held near the Robinson Complex, but there is no notification of the location in the news. Good day to be careful in Udon, lets hope for the non event.

ray23
What you mihgt find at the airport tomorrow; Local Forums reports truck loads of pro goverment people being brought in today with Police escort, I didn't see it so fact or not dont know. But, certainly a fact to the poster. I would really think about what your goign to do here in the next few days. If you don't have to be here, why put yourself in the position. PAD stays away and there will be no problems. I noticed that the loacl PAD leaders business is closed today. That could be a good sign or bad, I don't know. http://www.bangkokpost.net/topstories/tops...s.php?id=130484
ozzydom
I saw on the news tonight that Samak gave evidence today regarding the charges of his contravening the constitution (his TV show). The verdict is to be handed down tomorrow (TUESDAY). If he is found guilty, evidentally he and his entire cabinet must stand down , I would not want to be around that crowd if he is found guilty. From the News article he claims he was not paid to appear ,but the GM of the channel claims he was paid 80k to do four shows..
ray23
I saw part of the trial today, he tried top convience the court to continue the case. They denied it, I was left with the impression, they o were not palying any games with him. He used the impromptu meeting in Udon today a his excuse. He did come here today and speak to a crowd of about 2K What we see in Udon today was a complete surprise, there were no news announcements other then the meeting tomorrow. Howver, on the Bngkok news they showed the meeting room prepared for tomorrow. They said it would be at Tung Sii Mon. I dontl know if ther is facilties like tat there. If there is I have never seen them before. Nom Prajak Park does have facilties like that. The way they got peope there today was loud psekre truck going throught the villages, yesterday. Ten they literally trucked them in they aslo used a convoy of Baht Busses to move them in. I think tomorrow will be a much more orgainized event, they had had real time to prepare. The PAD say they are going to protest the meeting. The cops they have on duty there don't even have the shields. If it goes south there is absolutely nothing they are going to be able to do about it. The cops they had there today were already out numbered and they have no equipment whatsoever. Court decesion not to their liking or PAD shows up at all. It will go South. Folks yuo can watch on TV from a nice aircan room and not be endangered in anyway. There is nothing you can do to change a thing, this is not our business. Please just stay safe and hope for a non event tomorrrow.

ray23
Posted in the local forum time of the incident 10:00 A.M all the ingredients are there all it takes is a spark. Note: the rude comments to farrangs. Never forget we are the easiest target in Thailand "It sounds prudent to be aware choey-choey. 30 minutes ago I bought 3 beers in a plastic bag opposite Tung Sri MUang. Some red-shirts there, drunk already - making impolite words to falang. Police is all over - most of them unarmed. Pick-ups and buses with non Udon plates everywhere" No PAD around yet, just a note of interest, Thaksin's brother is attending the meeting
