September 8, 200817 yr For some reason I cannot explain, my remote decided to give up the ghost last night. Obviously action number one was to replace the batteries , but no still didnt work. Now instead of going the torturous route via True, who cannot even get my postal address correct, I am wondering whether or not these remotes are easily replaced. I remember on the previous old style boxes, remotes for them were available in places sujch as Fortune Tower, but does anyone know if the new/ish Topfield remotes are available there.
September 8, 200817 yr Just find the local UBC shop - customer services will tell you if necessary. Buy a replacement - cannot remember how much but not too bad
September 8, 200817 yr I dont know where you live, however if there is a branch of the amorn electrical store near it should have one. I have seen these in the amorn store next to tesco lotus at bang kapi.
September 8, 200817 yr Author Thanks people for responses. Went to True today at Tesco in Chaeng Wattana, they checked my old one and asked how long I hava had it. They said very common for these to fail, a new one set me back 200 Baht. So all is well
September 8, 200817 yr They have some serious cheek to charge you - based upon their monthly fees. It's their remote that failed. Seriously brain dead customer service. I know that's an oxymoron in this country.
September 8, 200817 yr Actually, most of us rent the top (including the remote). I wonder if you pay 200 baht does it become your property?
November 19, 201114 yr I have bought a replacement remote for UBC but it doesn't work - brand new - does it have to be coded? or something done other than put the batteries in and away?
