Safe Place To Buy Xbox360 In Bangkok

I'm looking to buy a XBOX360 console in Bangkok,

can anyone help with a safe, reliable and cheap place to buy the console ?

Are mods available there ?

Without knowing anything about you or your situation; your question depends on your situation; maybe you're a foreigner in which case buying an XBOX in your home country would best be

If at all possible, avoid buying a console in Bangkok, as Microsoft has never officially launched here and you run a high risk of buying a used, modified, repaired or otherwise damaged console. Of course you'll never get a warranty, wherever you buy in Bangkok, and you'll never know a console's history (especially whether it's been repaired or not) prior to you buying it.

If you are centrally located, AVOID buying from a department store which sell consoles for outrageous sums, many shops in the famous MBK centre may offer 1-3month 'warranties' buy these hardly constitute safe places to shop - it'll be your word against theirs.

If possible, buy a new or used Xbox from your home country and attempt a soft-mod using a PC and instructions from youtube, or pay a friend to soft-mod or fit a mod chip. The soft-mod is risky; any detected mod will ban you from XBOX live, you could easily mess up and have a really expensive paper-weight! If you use a European or North-American console in Thailand, be sure to consider the current of the local power supply!

What makes you say that? I've bought 2 consoles now from Bangkok, one XBox 360 Pro and another Arcade machine. They were both new, from the Hong Kong market. It came complete with all the correct items, properly wrapped and packaged, and the console itself was in mint condition with all the correct protective plastic peel-offs still on. If it's new it's pretty easy to tell.
