Mores the pity. the general standard of house wiring is scary, If you wired a house like they do here back at home you would be locked up (take alook in your attic)

All may not be lost - you could employ Thai electricians & supervise them.

Many farangs in Thailand are in awe at the poor quality of local workmen. I for one would rather go to a company that had a farang boss.

how hard would it be to start such a company up though?

and would there be a need for such a company , if the wiring is poor standards why pay more for better if what they have will do?

Starting the company would be easy. Finding capable electricians a little harder. Your problem comes about with the supervision aspect of the Project. Technically you can only work in the address shown on your work permit. So travelling to each site to supervise would have potential to create problems. As long as you only talked to your workers and told them how to do the work, then you would be fine. Actually picking up something and showing them how to do it leaves yourself open to problems.

For an example of this, go talk to a bar owner in Soi Rungland, he was trying to show some carpenters a safe way to use some power tools when the immigration officer happened to pass by. Costly safety lesson.

ive enquired on here before about work in thailand and to be honest it seems like a lot of trouble from the outset , ohwell never mind ill put up with uk for a while longer

ste

electricicians/builders in thailand get around 200-400thb a day!!(i was told)

+they use significantlety inferior tools to those used in the uk/west...

Its not surprising the standard of workmanship is a bit below par.

saying that, you have to respect someone who manages to get the cement mixer and all his tools on the back of his honda wave every morning.
