September 21, 200817 yr Hi guys building has just started and we are thinking ahead to the finer details! We will have 3 doors that I would like to be fully opening - something like these that open almost the full widthe of the room The problem is with the screens. I would like the to be able to open fully (ie the with of the doors) wich is almost the width of the room. But wifey wants sliding. Is it possible to make a screen that slides (50%) for ease of use - but that can also fold back (100%)? The other thought I had was a sliding 'roller' screen, like a roller blind but vertical with some aide to rigidity and tracks so it doesn't collapse . . . . any suggestions? Thansk David

Thansk David Hi david I am interested in the same kind of thing but some kind of folding screen for a double doorway 100%. I have previously seen a very expensive imported version, sliding folding, which looked extremely good. That was a few years ago and I would need to try and find the company again. However it is quite possible somebody in thailand / china is already making similar. You can try searching alibaba.com. I can see mosquito net suppliers but not looked in detail. Any other leads from TV would be welcome thanks. regards jojothai
September 21, 200817 yr Surely you could get a customised fold and slide (accordion) door. They slide on a track but you end up with a folded partition rather than taking up half the space because it only slides. I've seen them in wood, so the tracks are definitely available. You would just need to check if it can be customised in aluminium, or you could do it in wood too.
September 21, 200817 yr Author I would like it in wood . . . seems eminently practical to me her indoors can't see it though D
September 21, 200817 yr A Bkk Company named "Home Renovation" have sold us screens for our sliding doors that slide and "concertina" into their frames hence they appear to disappear. Maybe CM has a branch you can check out.

I had problems with fully opening sub-standard fly screens, until Euro PVC Windows Pattaya, organized a Bangkok company to fit mine, absolutely fantastic quality. the company might have branches throughout Thailand. The base is like a caterpillar track. Thansk David

September 22, 200817 yr I have seen roll up ones (self-storing) in Bangkok. Once rolled down (I think they used magnetic clips) they were invisible. My friend told me he bought them at Home Pro.
