Paypal Problem

Featured Replies

I'm trying to buy a game at play-asia.com using my PayPal account, but after checking out and getting to the confirmation and payment section, my old address in the States (which I registered PayPal with) is under the shipping address instead of the address I provided for the actual site. It lets me add a new address, but it's only in the US. Is there any way to remedy this?

I had this problem a couple of years ago when I moved to Malaysia. I couldn't find a way to change my country. After some useless back and forth with their customer service I finally said screw it and opened up another account for overseas use. It only took 2 minutes to do, but you need another email address. They charge your card for verification, the 4 digits on the "pending transaction" that posts is your pin, so you don't have to wait for actual posting. This assumes you have a bank that shows this on the internet.

And if you don't, just wait a few days and ring the bank for the info. Paypal warn you not to do this but the Thai Banks are happy to assist

I've just done it without problems

It's possible to transfer money between accounts, right?

Not in the sense of a bank xfer between checking and savings. I suppose you could send funds to your other account but don't know why you would; just use the same card/bank account that you did on your old account.

I have two Paypal accounts .... 1 US account and 1 Thai account. Both are verified (with virtual credit cards) and are Business accounts. It's no problem to transfer money between them, but you'll pay a fee every time.

Ideal are personal accounts, where you can transfer between them without cost.

Excactly why paypal isn't safe anymore.

I lost money a few weeks ago,won the case at paypal, but the seller is just using one of his other accounts to scam more people.

So,beware of paypal.Only shop at places you know.

Surely the whole point of using paypal is so that you have security in the transaction and as importantly will be able to get your money back.

^ Yes, but for every honest, single-account holder, there's maybe 10 'honest' multi-account holders and in turn for every one of them, there's probably 10 totally dishonest hacking, phishing, cloning internet bandits waiting for a chink in the armour to exploit.

If PayPal recommends something and you do otherwise, don't expect them to be totally sympathetic when you lose some cash, regardless of how dishonest the 'merchant' was.
