jaideeguy
I know there is another thread on google's chrome, but some time has past since it was introduced and as expected with any beta product, there will be bugs. It's been out more than a month now and am wondering if some of the issues have been resolved. Normally I avoid beta versions and wait until other [more expert] users polish the chrome. any new comments?? Is it ready for prime time??
Roadkill
Excellent timing, I just read this, this morning http://lifehacker.com/5054699/what-does-beta-mean-to-you But that being said, even though it doesn't have any bells or whistles it is fast. http://lifehacker.com/5055406/browser-spee...to+date-results refers. jaideeguy
thanks roadkill, that 2nd link sums it up with actual tests and easy to comprehend graphs for the dummy in me. It seems that in it's beta version, it still kick's ass. No mention of when the 2.0 version is going to be released??
NanLaew
I have been forced to use Chrome the past 24-hours since Firefox has gone totally deaf & dumb since I upgraded it (a not uncommon issue apparently). Chrome is notably faster and I am on a marine vSat connection and can tell the difference straight away. The only issue I had to google to resolve was the inability to install the flashplayer plug-in. Once I did that jiggery-pokery, it's working grand. tominbkk
I've used it an awful lot the last couple weeks, it does work very well. At work, I have a certain set of pages to open, and it does a good job on that old computer. However, I still jones for my add-ons with FF, so at home generally use that instead of Chrome. Can't wait til they open it up to add ons and such, then it will really kick a$$!
Gary A
Opera just released the 9.6 beta. I downloaded it and after using it for just a short while, set it as my default browser. I like Firefox but after running great for a month or so, it always gets buggy. Google should get better but for now it has no add ons that make it stand out.
