My wife has just received an order for a fairly large amount of products through her website. The customer in question want her to ship to France.

Are there any issues with shipping to France from Asia? Any restricted items or overlong customs checks that delay the shipping time?

Sorry should have said in OP that its by the normal registered airmail. Fed Ex etc works out too expensive, plus there isnt an office for about 100k's.

I wouldn't ship to France with registered air mail, very unreliable, better to go for EMS.

I've sent a large number of small parcels to France over the years and it's proved very unreliable, only Italy is worse. In fact this year France has been awful, at one point the loss was as high as 4 in 10. Compare this with UK 1 in 300. I wouldn't supply by ordinary mail, or double up profit margins.

Just herbal tea. I'll check out EMS price wise to see if its viable.
