That a third of a million people in Thailand's supposedly most politically-enlightened city should vote for a confessed criminal, pimp of under-age prostitutes, and general all-round thug as the person to present the face of their capital city to the world makes me speechless. Barred from the US (and who knows how many other countries), how can those voters live with their decision? Shades of Narong Wongwan (Wrong-One?). And Watana Asawahame. And ... and ... and ...

mathematics is not yours or?

Calculate it again, it is not 1/3

that under-age story is as well not as you tell.

I would say people are bored by the "normal" politic.

OHHWWW YEAHHHH BABY!

WE are Bored of the "Normal" politic(s)!

Bring on the Skin Traders, The Thugs and the Mafia!!Bankrupt our Brains! Corrupt our children! Destroy our Future!YEAH I LOVE IT! Anarchi and Kaos! Lay the Cities tax Budget to waste! Give to the Rich and EAT THE POOR!

Let's elect some Neanderthal Barbarians who can't read! They will be strong leaders! And We shall ALL go forth and pee and mark our spots. And We will reproduce and be Many!

Hand Phone Hand Phone

Big TV

Pick Up Bank Loan

Give Us Money

Who needs Brain Cells

We Got Gold

Who needs Taxes

We'll never grow old

May I propose the NEW (Not Normal) National Anthem?

We will have a New Politic(s) and it shall be called "Consumocraty"!

And a New Nation will take form and We Shall call that Land "Whyland"!

Now hang on a minute, where do you get off with those sort of comments. It is widely recognized that only the stupid Isaan farmers shouldn't be allowed to vote. The cosmopolitan and sophisticated Bangkok electorate are a very different matter. You have obviously misunderstood the finer points that he was campaigning on, shows a real ignorance of the subtleties of Thai politics. :o

A very large part of Bangkok's "unofficial" population is from Isaan.

How many taxi drivers voted?

Bring on new politics - let taxi drivers vote for their representatives regardless where they live or ply their trade.

:o

But won't that make it harder for the party-machines to control the vote ? So it will never happen. ! Simply too too democratic. :D

Which would CLEARLY explain why they make it so hard

to transfer a family book and it's voting privelleges.

Loss of control back at home.

er.... you know that non Bangkokians vote in their local body elections where they are registered right?

i.e. none of them voted for anyone unless they are registered as Bangkokians (which most are not). They are proud to vote in Isaan and choose to travel home to vote there; most of them that I speak to don't really care that much; in their hearts they are from Surin or wherever even if they have lived here in BKK for 20 years.

Interesting to see the attempts by PPP to promote Apirak on NBT on Saturday....so they could try to get the election nullified yesterday/today - never before have I seen such political interference on Channel 11 as most people know it, as we see now.

Jon Ungpakorn or whatever the twit's name on last night with the monkey face in the background....hmmmmmm.

Ah well, the right bloke won.

Looks like there is a possibility he could share a cell with Thaksin. Both are now found guilty of coruption.

No. He is not convicted of anything.

Apriak is indicted by the NCCC,

which then forwards that indictment to the Attorney General's office.

THEN the AG decides if it goes to court.

Thaksin on the other hand IS convicted as well as the Mrs.

and several other cases are past the AG's office and into court preliminaries.

Big difference.

Apirak is staying to fight his case in court.

Thaksin and Potty did a runner rather than attempt appeals.

I can appreciate that, supposedly, you are a new member, but there's no reason to post in a separate older non-topic-specific thread the same misinformation you already posted in a more current and topic-specific thread.
