Farang Doctor In Thailand ?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a doctor friend (2nd year radiology intern at the moment) who wants to know the following :

- is there any way for a french doctor to do a 6 month exchange with an hospital or clinic in Thailand

- is it realistic for a farang to try to work as a radiologist in Thailand ? Are there any clinics aimed at farang who employ farang doctors ?

The tricky part is, my friend doesn't speak any thai and would like to work in english (her english on the other hand is flawless).

Thanks for all input you could give me on this subject.

Your best bet would probably be to go thru NGO's.

There are certainly a number of foreign drs working in thailand. Up from Kanchanaburi near the burmese border there is a hospital with french, english and danish drs. Or do you mean well-paid positions?

I do not mean anything specifically ... just wondering what options exist.

I am sure any number of NGO's would be happy to put her to work.

As for commercial hospitals I have no idea, but you might start with the christian ones.
