Well lets see, the Rajamangala Stadium is a rather large one, may be really funny if only a few hundred "supporters" show....

:DYou wish! :(

So I wonder how many of them got paid to go there? :o

:D got me red handed! :D

but still funny.. somewhat the whole event, how much he's is up himself, I wonder?

I find Picture No.5 of #2433 where it says: "Thaksin is Mastermind" quite intriguing, undercover agents at work? :D

"Taksin" should be "Thaksin", but I couldn't spell it in Thai so shouldn't complain. :D

Bomb explodes outside Government House

A small bomb exploded outside the Government House early Tuesday morning. No one was injured.

Pol Sub-Lt Prapat Klaengkrathok of Nang Loeng police station said the explosion occurred at Orathai Bridge near Thewakam Intersection at 1:50 am.

The explosion caused a one-inch deep and 20-cm-wide hold on the ground.

Bomb disposal officers have yet to identify the type of the bomb.

Guards of the People's Alliance for Democracy told police that they heard something falling on a tree branch before falling to the ground. Then, they saw white smoke before a loud explosion was heard. No one was nearby at the time of the explosion.

The following is a letter published in the Financial Times today which was sent by Khun Chainarong Keratiyutwong, Director of Press Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Thai queen has always shown compassion to her people

Sir, Amy Kazmin's analysis of Thailand's political situation ("Good people?", October 28) contains a reference to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit which must be clarified to avoid misinterpretation of the role of the Thai monarchy in politics.

Her Majesty the Queen has always shown compassion for all Thai people, particularly those in difficult situations. She initiated royal projects on folk arts and crafts that have empowered many women in rural areas, including those in southern Thailand, to better their livelihood. She also provides assistance to those in desperate circumstances - be they victims of floods or violence.

Following the clashes between Thai police and demonstrators from the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) on October 7, Her Majesty the Queen made personal donations to hospitals for the treatment of all the injured, demonstrators and police officers alike.

Constitutionally, the Thai monarch - similar to the British - is above politics. His Majesty the King and the Royal Family have not been and are not involved with any political groups, either directly or indirectly. Be that as it may, given the monarchy's revered status in Thai society, and particularly amid the current political situation, some groups may seek to portray or interpret certain actions by members of the Royal Family in favour of their own cause. Great care must therefore be exercised in lending credence to such claims, including in the case mentioned in Ms Kazmin's article.

Chainarong Keratiyutwong,

Director of Press Division,

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand

Meanwhile the govt fact finding committee refused to declare who was right or who was wrong in Oct 7 clashes. They just want to present facts tot he public.

Anyone care to guess what the government will do with these "findings"? They know the facts already - they have been there, they are at the center of investigation.

Another rule has been broken - the govt must resign if it is responsible for deadly violence. Gloves are coming off, layer by layer. Thaksin wants his boys to stand the ground and fight, really fight, with blood and murder.

from the previous bombing of PAD...

More trouble brewing...

Pro-Thaksin general says more attacks against PAD to be made

Gen Kattiya Sawadiphol, a specialist of the Army, Thursday denied that he was behind the bomb attack against the People's Alliance for Democracy.

But he said the PAD would face more attacks and PAD guards would be killed everyday if the it did not stop occupying the Government House.

"In the future, the PAD may be attacked with RPG rockets, M79 grenades," Kattiya sad.

last night's bombing of PAD wasn't one of these.... yet... but is Kattiya just warming up???

and was he and/or responsible for the UDD seige of the Chiang Mai television station???

since removing the most believable and reliable member, Khunying Pornthip, from the investigation and since their preliminary finding of guilt by the police and government.... nothing has happened... and as for this committee....

they might ALL as well resign....

for its legitimacy is now what everyone negatively expected beforehand.

For anyone who didnt notice, this was a fact finding committee set up by the PM to buy him time. It included choosing people who hadnt been asked including a blind guy who was initially assigned to inspect the scene and who has now resigned. Thwere were also such gems as extending every deadline a few times. If anyone thought this committee was anything other than a front for extending the life of the government that at that point was about to collapse then they will be sadly disillusioned.

Thye reality is that the meme on what happened that day is in and the news cycle has moved on. The meme is damning to the government and police but the government has survived the day and now it is full steam ahead to constitutional ammendment and that is where things will get nasty, or naster than they are now and there is no way the ammendment is not goign to be manipulated.

a blind crime scene investigator... the heights of incredulous absurdity this government reaches on a continual basis is astounding.

yes, posts of "1 week to conclusion" have been weeks overdue...

and to reiterate, the loss of Khunying Pornthip was one of the greatest, of several, credibility-removal acts they've committed.

While I suspect that many have never heard of Poll Watch in Thailand, the link below is a letter to the editor that was printed in this morning's The Nation. Poll Watch's Chairman is a former Supreme Commander of the Military and Khunying Ambhorn is the Commissioner of National Human Rights Commission of Thailand. There are also some others whose names some might recognize.

This pretty much sums up my views on the current situation:

The latest one was moved to Nov 13.

Somchai publicly said he'd take responsibility if he was found guilty by this committee.

He will be reminded again and again, even if the news cycle has moved.

Fresh bomb attack on Thai anti-government protesters: police

A hand grenade was tossed at a group of guards at an anti-government protest site in Bangkok early Tuesday, Thai police said, but no one was hurt in the second such attack within a week.

The small bomb went off before dawn outside the prime minister's offices -- known as Government House -- which have been occupied since late August by protesters trying to being down the elected administration.

"The bomb fell to the ground about three to four metres (yards) from a barricade. Up to seven guards manned the barricade," Lieutenant Colonel Chalermchai Wongjiem of the local police station told AFP.

"Nobody was hurt," he added.

Ten volunteer security guards for the so-called People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protest group were injured last Thursday when a grenade was hurled at their camp, raising fears of escalating tensions in the kingdom.

In other violent incidents, one man was shot dead last week and another injured on Sunday near the Government House protest site after arguments with PAD guards, who are believed to be armed.

The PAD launched its campaign to bring down the government in May, saying it was running the country on behalf of ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, whom they accuse of corruption and nepotism.

The movement erupted into violence on October 7 when police fired tear gas at thousands of protesters trying to block parliament. Two people were killed and nearly 500 injured in the resulting clashes.

At least 60 people were injured Tuesday when twin bomb blasts ripped through a local government office and a busy teashop in the insurgency-hit south of Thailand, police said.

Elsewhere in Thailand, a car bomb hit at about 11:15 am (0415 GMT) outside a district office where village heads were meeting in Narathiwat province, a local police officer told AFP, and minutes later a bomb went off at a nearby tea shop.

"More than 60 injured people were hospitalised at Sukhirin district hospital and Sungai Kolok district hospital," said the police officer, who did not want to be named as he was not authorised to speak to the media.

"No deaths have been reported yet," he added.

The first bomb hit as people gathered at a fruit market opposite the Sukhirin district office in an area near the border with Malaysia.

In separate incidents, a 47-year-old religious teacher was shot dead in Narathiwat province on Monday night, while a 41-year-old man was killed later in a similar attack in nearby Pattani province, police said.

Tuesday's twin explosions come a week after new Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat visited the Muslim-majority far south and told reporters that the five-year-long insurgency appeared to have eased.

More than 3,400 people have been killed in rebel attacks by shadowy insurgent groups operating in the region since January 2004 and successive governments have struggled to quell the unrest.

Thailand's three far southern provinces were an ethnic Malay sultanate until mainly Buddhist Thailand annexed the region in 1902, provoking decades of tensions.

PAD: Same Type of Bomb Used in Attacks at PAD

A core leader of the People's Alliance for Democracy has surveyed the site of a bomb attack on the PAD at Orathai Bridge last night. He believes it was the same type of explosive used to attack the group earlier at Makawan Bridge. This is the second bomb attack on the PAD in five days.

PAD core leader Somsak Kosaisuk investigated the area next to Orathai Bridge, where a bomb was lobbed last night.

During the group's daily press conference, Somsak showed shrapnel and broken glass bottles to reporters. Somsak is confident the bomb thrown at the PAD gathering last night was an M-26 grenade, the same type of bomb lobbed at a group of PAD volunteer guards at Makawan Bridge on Thursday last week.

Somsak said witnesses saw three men drive away in a car about 15 minutes after the explosion.

The bomb left a hole in the ground of one inch deep and 20 centimetres wide. The bomb site is an area where PAD volunteer guards check protesters for weapons before they are allowed into the Government House area.

A PAD volunteer guard who was in the area when the bomb exploded said he heard something hit a tree before the object fell to the ground. Then, he saw smoke before a loud explosion occurred. Fortunately, the explosion did not cause any injuries as a stack of tires contained the blow.

To increase safety for the protesters, the PAD will be installing more spotlights in various areas around its protest site at Government House.

Where are all the 'pro-peace/anti-coup' posters condemnation? Or it only happens when a single drunk DAAD-supporter gets killed in a street fight, not when others are bombed in drive-by events? Some posters are harping on that mans unfortunate death in so many posts but yet...nothing now.

Sounds fair and balanced...

My browser doesn't like his site.

But these two images speak more than all the sanscrit he has to say.

Didn't his training officer say NEVER point a gun at someone

unless you intend on shooting them.

So he points at EVERYBODY checking his site out. Oooh that's so, uh, uh... tasteful.

but by God, he's gonna do so defending the Democracy Monument....

and going between that one and this one with children dolls...

saedang_doll_logo.jpg

results in what I believe the correct and proper clinical terminology to describe this man is..... "fruitcake".....

and a heavily armed one, at that.

he's finally being bridled in...

Sae Daeng: Ordered to stop by Army Chief

Bangkok Post

Sae Daeng to stop training UDD group

Ordered to stop by Army Chief

Army specialist Major-General Khattiya Sawadipol decided yesterday to stop training a group of pro-government UDD security guards who call themselves, "King Taksin's Warriors." Khattiya said he had decided to disband the group on the orders of Army Chief General Anupong Paojinda. He said he received a "special instruction" from an important person through the Army Chief, but he declined to give more details. Khattiya, better known as Sae Daeng, has used Sanam Luang to give the UDD supporters military training for more than a month. "From now on, they have nothing to with me, whatever they do," Khattiya said. "The group will become something similar to the Forty-Seven Ronins in the Japanese tale. They will chase after the core leaders of the PAD and the Sriwichai warriors [PAD security guards]," Khattiya said. A ronin was a samurai in feudal Japan who had been left leaderless. Meanwhile, the PAD has tightened security in and around their rally site at the grounds of Government House following a bomb explosion nearby in the early hours of yesterday. The alliance has reinforced barricades to defend against more possible attacks and installed more spotlights so PAD security guards can see more clearly at a distance at night.

There is not any real evidence that these drive by bomb claims are coming from any certain party. PAD have a lot of links to generals and the army, so it could just be them causing these incidents to gain publicity for their cause. Have any of you ever thought about that. Offcoarse its just speculation... I am in no way claiming that PAD are the cause but I wouldnt be surprised if the 3rd party are actually involved helping PAD out for ASTV propaganda. And yes PAD beating to death a government supporter is sick and especially that the murderers are still out there at government house free. Sounds fair and balanced?

Oh yes, the argument that PAD itself plants this bombs to generate publicity, as it they are not getting enough.

These little bombs have been going off for years, starting from Santi Asoke itself. Oh wait, it was is Chamlong who blew up his own temple for publicity! Great conspiracy theory.

Was it also PAD that planted a bomb at Prem's residence? Or at judge's house? Or the one that was thrown in the midst of PAD guards and injured ten?

And where were your condemnations of that man's death?

Personally, I condemn without any pre-qualification any act of violence against any individual, regardless of who did what to who. I also would never dream of supporting the denial of medical care to anyone injured in such circumstances.

Having made my standpoint clear, never let it be forgotten that the beating to death of that DAAD supporter by PAD's guard-thugs,was the first blood of this whole sorry mess. For them to now cry "not fair" is a tad hypocritical.

Huh?

the DAAD guy attacked the PAD ... and sadly was killed while they were defending themselves. The result? Exactly what Samak wanted, a reason to call for a State of Emergency .... of course that backfired on him terribly!

Sure, it's a third, invisible hand. No great conspiracy is complete without third hand and little green aliens.

Yeah, UDD guys are so timid and non-violent that the third appendage resorts to bombing PAD every now and then to keep them on their toes.

The fact is that the bombs against PAD go off regularly.

YOU can sit and wait until investigation is finished, and pretend that there's some other third, not a pro-Thaskin party attacking them. PAD doesn't have this luxury. It's great that they haven't bombed someone back.

So far little green aliens in two year old Santi Asoke haven't been completly ruled out. But you can wait just a little more. And then some more.

The police are doing thier jobs. Culprits will be caught and justice will be served.

Again you are being dishonest and unbalanced since you had no problem blaming PAD deaths and maimings on imaginary bombs they should carried themselves.

You were wrong. You were wrong. You were wrong.

It was 100% from Police weapons. As several posters tried to tell you but you repeatedly ignored.
