Visa Problem For My Parents

Featured Replies

Hi,

I hope some of you knowledgeable guys can help me with this ....

My parents (German nationality) just arrived in Thailand October 7th, they got a single entry tourist visa. Soon they will travel to Japan for a few days and then return to Thailand on 21st of October. After that they will stay here until December 5th. Problem is that their single entry visa cannot be used when they return from Japan, right ? What are the options ? They will have only a few days in Japan, so obtaining a new visa there will be difficult.

- Is it possible to change the single to a multiple entry visa prior to the trip to Japan ?

- Is it possible to get some new visa at the BKK immigration office prior to the trip ?

- Worst case, if they need to get the 30 day visa on arrival, how difficult / safe is it to extend their stay until December 5th (i.e. exactly 15 days extension)

- any other option ?

Thanks for helping me out !

Get a re-entry permit at the nearest immigration office, that way any days left on the visa, are awarded once they return to Thailand. 1000 baht.

Yes, get a Re-entry Permit at a local Thai Immigration office or at the Airport prior of departure.

Upon return they will be able to utilize the original visa .

In case your parents plan to stay longer than the 5th of December they can extent the Visa for 30more days at any Thai Immigration office for a fee of THB 1,900.-

Yep. A Re Entry Permit will keep their original stay alive. It will not add days.

Thanks a lot !

That's great, I will go with them to the Immigration office at Suan Plu to get the re-entry permit.

Cheers...
