October 8, 200817 yr Hey, I'm a Canadian here on 60 day tourist visa that expires on Oct 21. Should I try to renew for 8 days? or just overstay? My flight home is Oct 29. Tks, Scared of Winter....
October 8, 200817 yr You can extend your visa for 30 days cost will be 1900 baht. Overstay will cost you 500 baht per day. So whats better pay 4000 baht or extend? Plus the risks of overstaying.
October 8, 200817 yr Author wow. Overstaying used to be 100B/day! 555 (Ha ha). I once over stayed 4 days when I worked here on a trip home. I paid my 400B and they didnt care. The price has gone up now. Thanks for the info. I will renew.
October 8, 200817 yr That has to of been a long time ago it was 200 before it went to 500. I thought you might choose the extend option.
October 11, 200817 yr i was just there from the USA on the 30 day on arrival visa. I stayed an extra 7 days and that cost 1900 b. There was no 30 day extension available unless I made a visa run. the 1900 b was only for 7 days. Maybe 60 day tourist visa is different. I defer to the experts.
October 11, 200817 yr A 30 day on a tourist visa is standard and is what you get when you apply and is also 1900 baht.
October 11, 200817 yr Are you saying I could get a 30 day extension by just paying the fee as I approach the 30 day date instead of making a visa run? I did not think that was allowed. Although I can imagine the Thais taking the money and being done with it.
October 11, 200817 yr No. You do not have a Visa to extend. 7 days would be your limit. Tourist Visas can be extended for 30 days.
