Hi Everybody

I am currently in the process of compiling an application for my Thai girlfriend to visit me in the UK. We originally intended to use an imigration agent but after receiving various 'suspect' advice, and considering the fees we've decided to go it alone.

However I am struggling with a number of the questions on the VAF1 and the guidance isn't particularly helpful.

6.1.4 If you are not a national of the country in which you are applying, what permission do you have to stay in that country?

Do you just leave this blank if she is a national in the country of application, or do they want some sort of confirmation

6.10.17 If someone other than yourself is paying for all or any part of this visit, how much money will they give you?

How do you calculate this amount, is it cost of travel + cost of living etc

6.10.18 What is the cost to you personally, of your stay in the UK?

I am paying all costs, do we just put £0 in this box.

Also does anyone have a good example of a Sponsor Letter they could send us?

Kind regards

Jonathan & Piya

1. Leave blank or N/A

2. Cost of everything

4. 0

The biggest thing is to show that she will return the end of her trip. Ties to Thailand. Family , Land. House , Job.

Also give evidence of her accomodation in UKJ . Letter of invitation, proof that the house/room belongs to you or whoever.

Proof of your relationship. E Mails, Phone Calls, Photos.
