I am looking for some software. Free if possible. Which one shows world times on your desktop?

If you have Vista that has 'Sidebar' (like yahoo widgets), there's some decent free clock 'gadgets' available to download.

Otherwise there's a free world clock utility at www.pawprint.net/wt/ that I have used in the past. It hasn't been updated in years and was glitchy the last time I tried but it may fly for you.

I love iGoogle. They have several world clocks available.

The last one - ClocX - is great! :o I'm using the clock "Einfache moderne Wandeduhr" :D . What a great little tool! And free! :D

Thats a good one. Another one I like is .thefreeworldclock.com/  because you can save your list of cities and access them later.  The site isn't too developed but i like that feature.

And there's the Firefox add-on called "FoxClocks" which shows the time in the locations you've configured when you hover the mouse over the FoxClock icon:
