October 13, 200817 yr I go through a lot of books that I order mainly from websites. Domestic shipping in the US is normally pretty cheap ($4 or so). Can I expect shipping to go up a lot for US books if I live in thailand?
October 13, 200817 yr I have ordered from Amazon before and it wasn't bad. The delivery was quick because they air freight them to another country and them mail them from there. Had some with Hong Kong post marks and others from Europe.

October 13, 200817 yr I have ordered some DVDs from amazon, usually take about 2-3 weeks and shipping cost about $10-$15 (i think). About 50% of the time the DVDs get import tax assessed, which is about 40% or something.
October 13, 200817 yr The key is to go for regular air mail (UPS) rather than any other courier or expediated service. The couier services will hit you with tax on DVDs and often you have to go to the depot to pick them up. All my books have arrived quite quickly from Amazon eBay etc.

Because with UPS tax will likely be charged.
