December 1, 200421 yr How to view the current running connections of my pc? Thanks a lot for your help!
December 1, 200421 yr Connections or processes? If you mean processes, do the vulcan keystroke -- Ctrl - Alt - Delete. The Windows Task Manager pops up, and you can see what your computer is doing, etc.
December 1, 200421 yr Download DUMETER. It will show you the traffic in and out of your computer. It keeps daily/weekly/monthly up and download data. Can be configured to show one or all links. If necessary you could run more than one copy to monitor different lines. I have it displayed in the top corner of my screen, and can clearly see when the data traffic just stops altogether. It gives a useful idea of usage of you plan to move to broadband, of on the kids machine to see how much of the download is theirs.
December 1, 200421 yr Maybe you mean this ?? If you have a Windows Xp machine.... START/Connect to/Show All Connections Then double click on the active connection for more information like connect time and up.down loaded data.
December 1, 200421 yr Or do you mean tcp/ip connections? Start -> Run... type CMD press enter. This opens a command screen Type netstat to see the current tcp/ip connections Add -n means do no name lookup of ip addresses. Speeds things up.

December 2, 200421 yr Or you can try Armor2net Personl Firewall. It has a "Net State" function which can show the currently active connections and the details of these connections, including Remote Address/Port, Local Application/Port, Protocol and Status. Download this firewall from http://www.armor2net.com. Good luck!

December 5, 200421 yr Or do you mean tcp/ip connections?Start -> Run... type CMD press enter. This opens a command screen Type netstat to see the current tcp/ip connections Add -n means do no name lookup of ip addresses. Speeds things up. Just keep the results in perspective. You may have alot of connections, but that doesn't mean someone's after you. Every banner ad, webpage, etc will probably have its own ip addy. (I've seen people convinced that they were getting attacked by doubleclick.net ) If you're worried go to www.zonelabs.com and get a copy of zonealarm. Basic version is free and works well. Paid version is $50 and very good. cv
