Suvarnabhumi To Hua Hin

Featured Replies

My family will be flying into Bangkok on Sunday and I'll be picking them up and driving to Hua Hin for a holiday. Could anybody kindly give me the best route from Suvarnabhumi to Hua Hin and the approximate travelling time at a steady speed without rushing? Many thanks.

Hi minimart,

Please see map below.

Bangkok. The Big Mango

The" - - - - - - - - - - " part has been finished now for nearly one year.

The best and easy way is to leave the Airport and take the road leading to Bangkok which should be the last part of the Motorway.

About 9-10 kms take the Kanchanapisak Road turn off left towards Bang Na. Careful there as road works are in progress so it is very easy to take the Bang Pa-in Road, which is the wrong road.

Once on the Route 9 head towards Rama II (2) Road and over the Kanchanapisak Bridge.

At the Junction of Rama II road turn left to Samut Sakhon (there are a lot of road works there BTW) which will take you all the way to Phetchaburi and Cha-Am – Hua Hin.

Note:- from the Airport to near Phetchaburi there are no traffic lights nor Toll Booths as yet and all big roads.

Traveling time at appox 90-110 kms per hour on a clear raod, 2.5-3 hours more or less.

Safe trip and good luck. :D

Yours truly,

Kan Win :D

P.S. and let us know how you got on, please. :o

Head for Dao Kanong go over the bridge as pictured above.

Then I believe it's your second turn off after you clear the bridge, the Samut Sakhon turn off heading south.

I would say the same as Kan Win on the time, allow for about 3 hours. As earlier in the year there was a lot of road works further down out of Bangkok, throw in a few mad drivers and buses in klongs I always find it safer to take my time down that way.

Have a safe trip.

John.

Sorry "johnsurin", but the Bridge into Dao Kanong is the Rama 9 Bridge. :o

The photo in this post is leaving Dao Kanong going into Bangkok proper taken many a year ago.

Please re-check the map that I posted.

For sure there are two ways to go, you posted the other way, :D I posted the best and easy way as I know it, since I travel to Kanchanaburi (west of Bangkok) from the New Airport each week using this route.

Yours turly

^ Sorry! :o

Stayed at the Sofitel Centara. Beautiful place situated in the old railway hotel on the beach. Very colonial and sedate. Right next to the restaraunt/pub area but you couldn't hear a thing inside the grounds of the hotel. Highly recommended and even though it was full you never felt crowded. 3 pools and never a problem getting a lounger. Very helpful and polite staff. Guest ratio 90% foreigner and 10 % Thai. Not too many children. Great if you want a relaxing chill out time. Expect to pay 5000 baht up per night.
