3 rooms robbed and 500,000 Baht’s worth of valuables taken at South Pattaya Hotel.

It appears there is a spate of robberies occurring at Hotels around Pattaya at this time and we urge all tourists to ensure that all valuable items are well secured. In the early hours of Wednesday Morning, Police were called to a popular hotel located in Soi 15 which connects Soi Beokeow with Pattaya Second Road. Three rooms on the 4th Floor had been broken into and valuables had been stolen from the room safe boxes. Police noticed that the doors had not been forced open and the safe boxes had been opened without any force. This suggested to them that someone inside the Hotel may have been involved or a professional group who known how to bypass door entry security systems and safe box combination locks were involved. All three rooms were occupied by English Tourists and they were taken to Pattaya Police Station to make a report of the incident. A total of 500,000 Baht’s worth of cash and valuables were stolen. CCTV is now being checked at the Hotel as Police attempt to locate and arrest those who committed the theft.

Why can't these local news reporting organisations name the hotels/bars/karaokes/developments which are the subject matter of negative reports. This is in sharp contrast to the naming of the Grand Jomtien Hotel where three tourists had their rooms broken into earlier this week. What's the difference? Didn't they pay to keep their name out of it?

If not, I don't understand why one hotel should be named and others not.

Perhaps we shoudl be told by the brave Pattaya press - "we dare [to ironically print a list of all our honorary advisers] when others keep silent".

Scott we are right here mate. I don't like anyone to get their stuff ripped off but what are these people thinking...bringing their gold and diamond and whatever to a high class resort (on soi 15?) such as Pats to gain face?

Insider Job - happened frequently in a once well frequented Samui Resort...which shut it's doors recently and in others as well, "no force" explains it all!

The new "Number lock" safes aren't safe at all-there is a Master "Key Number" to them in case a customers forgets his code.... someone from the staff knows this number....."human manure" sad but it's how things are..

and it looks to be the Mercure from the unique balcony design.

Pretty sad at 1,900 baht per day and rooms are still not secure. As if Pattaya

needs any more of a bad rap with this constant thieving from guests.
