Actually two questions have two questions. Background first. Work Middle East with 3 trips to Thailand each year. Want to obtain a driver's license in Nakhon Sawan Province, and unfortunately the local office isn't as laissez-faire with the rules as it seems that Pattaya's office is in having the correct visa (I only get the 30 days on arrival).

Which visa would be the easiest/best in my circumstance?

Is the Thai consulate in Dubai visa friendly?

A tourist visa is one option.

I recently replied to a post from a member that had been working in the UAE for a number years and had been getting mutiple entry non immigrant O's at Dubai based upon marriage.

I have heard of some consulates giving non-o's to those on a rotation who were using Thailand as their home base.

A non immigrant visa is a better visa to have if wanting to do such things as getting a drivers license for example.

Any consulate not near Thailand is typically better than those near by.

Thank you for your reply. I'm assuming that using the statement I had obtained previously from my embassy (when I was attempting to get the license on a visa on arrival) woul dhelp establish the fact that I use Thailand as a home base or would the numerous stamps suffice?

Yes that might help. Stamps would confirm you have already been doing it plus cover letter explaning why you need visa.

A letter from your employer comfirming your employment status and roatation would be a big help also. It could also include a line requesting the consulates assistance in this matter.
