KohKarrang
I've got an old 1st or 2nd generation ipod 40gb which hasn't worked for a while, it's got all of my photos and videos and loads of music on it, I haven't been able to access any of it for ages but I've been ok about it, thinking that one day when I can be bothered then I'll get the data recovered, it's done strange things since it stopped working - it still shows all of the data is on there, when I turn it on and try to play one of the music files it just skips through all 2000+ songs one by one without playing any of them I was wondering what the chances are of getting it fixed and recovering my data, if this is not possible then I would just like to use it as a hard drive as I'm using an Asus eeepc at the moment and it's got limited space remaining, any ideas?... dave_boo
FWIW, there are few eee pc's that have the ZIF connector. And I'm not sure that the one they have will match up with your ipod's hdd.
KohKarrang
Thanks for your reply dave_boo I seem to have fixed the problem by plugging the iPod inot my neighbours ibook which kickstarted the iPod, I then plugged it into both of my pc's and it worked fine I'm over the moon! KohKarrang
Still having problems, my technological run has hit a brick wall! Each time I try to transfer pics and music from my old iPod I get half way through completing my task and something fails, is it possible my iPod has worn out?? It is over 4 years old....
